Tsukuba Wiki: Know what the locals know...

The action arm of the Japanese governments ODA programs. Manages overseas developmental assistance programs representing the Japanese government. Provides training to select applicants and public officials from around the world in agricultural technology, ecology, and sustainable farming and industry. Provides monetary aid and expertise to assist developing nations.

  • JICA Open House

JICA sponsors a free open house two or three times per year showcasing the cultures of each of their current participants. JICA participants create information booths, display products, art, and tourism information from their respective home countries. JICA facilities are also opened for public viewing. Many schools bring students for the open house, and members of the local community have a chance to interract with foreigners from most of the world's developing nations.

Off Route 408 south of RIKEN. Turn left at the Hot Spar and head for the tall orange brick buildings, parking on the southeast side of the JICA facilities.
