Tsukuba Wiki: Know what the locals know...

There are quite a number of mailing lists in Tsukuba. It is probably advisable to join the biggest list, TAIRA, when you come (or before you arrive) so you can get a sense of the community. Many Sayonara Sales take place on that site and it is also a place to share information about Tsukuba and ask for help with problems you are having.

The "special interest" mailing lists are usually a lot smaller than TAIRA, so they are perhaps little less intimidating and often have a warmer atmosphere.

All mailing lists are open to new members. Feel free to join one and introduce yourself even before you arrive in Tsukuba.
