Mosquitos breed in standing water, so make sure you don't have any empty bottles or other containers left outside. They are attracted to carbon dioxide but hate smoke.
Ways to deal with mosquitosEdit
Traditional method of mosquito repulsion using a burning coil. Highly effective but does smell and is a slight fire hazard. Price-wise, no-mat costs about the same per day as a mosquito coil and doesn't smell. Mosquito coils can be carried outside though or used on your porch.
A type of mosquito repellent made by Aasu. Small bottles of liquid are fitted into a heater which plugs into the electrical socket. Evaporated liquid is extremely effective at repelling mosquitos. Liquid comes in scented and unscented versions in 30, 60 and 90 day amounts. The number of days assumes you switch the repellent off for half the day. Aasu also make "o-soto de no-mat" for outdoor mosquito repulsion.
Wear long sleeves and long trousers and socks to prevent mosquito bites. If you work outside a lot, there are nets sold at Joyful Honda for putting over a straw hat to protect you from mosquitoes.
